Yum Install Heartbeat No Package Available Rating: 4,2/5 1119votes

I'n newby with linux and I'm learning on LINUX heartbeat. I'm trying to do 'yum install heartbeat' which shows me like below. # cat /etc/issue Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.8 (Tikanga) # yum install heartbeat Loaded plugins: katello, product-id, rhnplugin, security, subscription-manager Updating certificate-based repositories. Unable to read consumer identity Setting up Install Process No package heartbeat available. Nothing to do # Centos on my local does work.

Installing Redis on CentOS 6.6 final - no package available. Up vote 0 down. Remi-release-6.rpm rpm -Uvh remi-release-6*.rpm epel-release-6*.rpm yum install redis.

Yum Install All Packages

Can anyone explain me why redhat doesn't work and what i should do?

So I am now managing two RHEL machines that I need to install haproxy and heartbeat on. When I follow instructions to do so I get the following: [admin@p2378442 ~]$ sudo yum -y install heartbeat haproxy Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, security Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile * main-base: yum01tor.peer1.com * main-extras: yum01tor.peer1.com * main-updates: yum01tor.peer1.com Setting up Install Process No package heartbeat available. No package haproxy available. Microsoft Picture Manager Windows 7. Nothing to do [admin@p2378442 ~]$ I imagine I just need to add some repository or other to some yum configuration file or other.

What is my best bet? I've tried a few things I've found in Google so far; but they don't seem to help. I'm new to RHEL I don't want to just spray packages in to my system on accident! I miss Ubuntu server already.
