I am using the latest Dosbox version and that one doesn't include the resource.cfg so I skipped the last steps. But I figure those are only to make it easier to start up the game by not having to insert the commands every time. I don't mind doing that though. One thing I noticed is that running it in Dosbox is now ALMOST the same as with the XPinstaller.

Sound and Graphics are the same, the only difference is the opening video. The sound there is inferior than of the CD version and somehow the window is very small.
