Fresco made a reputation as an inventor – of aluminum housing, medical devices, and an early 3-D projector. But his real passion was for what he termed “sociocyberneering,” the application of science to redesign society in humanistic terms. In this documentary we listen to Fresco explain his ideas to visitors to the Venus Project and hear his responses to direct questions by an unseen interviewer. We see clips of his 1974 appearance on a local Miami television program hosted by Larry King, visit the Venus Project grounds, and view drawings and models that illustrate his ideas for a world in which there would be no more war or hunger or regimentation of the masses. This world would use resources intelligently and people would be freed from all repetitious jobs. It would feature self-creating buildings, urban centers designed on a circular grid, and underwater cities for mining the oceans.

It would operate with a resource-based, rather than monetary-based, economy. Civilization is always evolving, says Fresco.
